St. Andrews

This beach house at St. Andrews is perfection, with stunning views and plenty of space. The owners consider this a retreat for them to escape to, and they are thrilled with the build, finding in it the lifestyle and look that they were looking for.

The owners wanted to use raw materials to blend in and weather the harsh elements of the ocean spray and heavy winds, and they knew that timber is resilient and a greenhouse positive product. The timber fit in with the rural beach environment, had the strength they needed for the winds and was aesthetically pleasing.

The build exceeded their expectations! They went with Silvertop Ash cladding for the exterior of the home as they wanted that classic grey weatherboard look and it aged quicker than they thought it would, giving them exactly what they wanted.
